IT Service Management – Mainframe Programmers
With mainframe at the centre of countless everyday processes, it is an essential tool for big business. Banks, insurance companies and a whole host of other organisations use mainframes to process millions of transactions per second, with the most recent mainframes capable of completing 12bn highly encrypted transactions a day. A great way to envisage Mainframe is as the beating heart of data transactions for a large enterprise, with the average person ‘touching’ a mainframe 12-14 times per day!
This role will offer you not only comprehensive pre-deployment training provided by FDM, but a mapped out learning journey over the next two years with one of our prestigious banking clients based in Sheffield. By the end of the first two years, you will have fast-tracked your knowledge and skills to become a resident knowledge centre for all things mainframe.
This opportunity will be located in Sheffield with one of our largest finance clients. Interviews will take place with the client on Monday 20th May to therefore, start training with us on Monday 27th May.
What’s in it for you?
The bottom line is that older infrastructure isn’t going away any time soon. Armed with the right knowledge, a mainframe programmer can take their pick of jobs and command a far higher wage than their counterparts who lack mainframe expertise.
We welcome graduates to apply with any STEM or Computing-related degree background.
