FDM Group is an international IT services provider currently looking for bright, highly motivated and talented interns with a passion for technology to join our team over the summer. The roles will be primarily office based with some scope to work flexibly.
As a Software Developer intern, you will work on an in-house project within a group of interns adding value to FDM and finding a solution to a real-life business challenge. Throughout your internship, you will be provided with guidance and support by our Marketing Team and will gain an understanding of FDM and its business model. 
The project involves working with departments across the business to ‘gamify’ three of the streams on the FDM Graduate Programme to give fellow students an interactive and engaging way of finding out more about what those roles are all about.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Converting web designs into clean code using the current in-house tech stack
  • Feeding back into the development process through regular planning sessions
  • Liaising with the project’s stakeholders
  • Communicating and working effectively with the other interns

Essential criteria

  • Studying towards a Computer Science or similar degree with coding experience
  • Good knowledge of full stack development with experience in using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work individually and collaboratively within the team and wider organisation
  • Stong problem-solving and logical thinking skills to examine and analyse the information presented; use own initiative to find creative solutions
  • Ability to establish, build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organisation

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience with project work
  • Knowledge of other web technologies or industry standard development tools, including WordPress
  • Knowledge of Agile development
