The Role

Reporting to the University Partnership Manager, the Data Analyst works within the Graduate Recruitment team, using statistical analysis to produce reports for the business on the effectiveness and strategic review of recruitment.   
The Data Analyst will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of all aspects of the business and own a number of high importance projects. On the role you will learn to apply skills in a range of data visualisation software such as Power BI and Tableau and the widely used CRM tool Salesforce. 
Your year with FDM will give you exposure to real business life working in a collaborative and dynamic company. The ideal person needs to be task orientated, have a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage high volume of work and prioritise tasks in line with the needs of the department. The candidate must be a team player and able to effectively communicate with all levels of seniority within the business.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the FDM business model
  • Creating a weekly UK and Global recruitment report for senior management
  • Analysing data relating to all stages of the candidate journey – applications, number of hires, success rates and other aspects of performance
  • Providing recruitment data for the monthly board report liaising with colleagues in other departments
  • Creating Power BI dashboards for university campus events and a UK university employability indicator analysing university recruitment performance success
  • Using Power BI to generate external university recruitment reports
  • Supporting the University Partnerships team with events on campus promoting benefits of an FDM placement year
  • Assisting Finance and Business Support teams in relation to global reports and budgeting

Essential Requirements

  • Enrolled in a four-year sandwich/ industrial placement degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics related subjects and on track to achieve a 2:1 classification
  • Interest in data visualisation and manipulation and business intelligence software
  • Able to interpret and present data in the form of tables, graphs and charts, delivered to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Skills in effective verbal and written communication with appropriate level of report writing and confidence in delivering presentations
  • Able to work individually but also collaboratively within the team and wider organisation, supporting other team members, building and maintaining relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • Able to prioritise and manage tasks and work under pressure in order to meet deadlines 
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership and show initiative
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach to gathering, understanding and analysing data in order to create accurate reports

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau
